GURU or SPIRITUAL TEACHER
Meaning of guru in Hindu scriptures is dispeller of darkness (wherein darkness is seen as avidya, lack of knowledge both spiritual and intellectual), 'gu' meaning darkness, and 'ru' meaning dispeller."On the authentic guru...
" The greatest Master is much less a Teacher than a Presence pouring the divine consciousness and its constituting light and power and purity and bliss into all who are receptive around him." Sri Aurobindo, Synthesis of Yoga 418. The only true and full Awareness is Awareness of Awareness. Until Awareness is Awareness of itself, it knows no peace at all.You are unconditioned and changeless, formless and immovable, unfathomable awareness, unperturbable: so hold to nothing but consciousness. —Sage Ashtavakra, Ashtavakra Gita [6], Ch.1, v.17The great remedy for the long lasting disease of samsara is the enquiry, 'Who am I?, to whom does this samsara belong,' which entirely cures it. —Sage Valmiki, Yoga Vasista Sara [7], Ch.1, v.5O Rama, this enquiry into the Self of the nature or 'Who Am I?' is the fire which burns up the seeds of the evil tree which is the mind .—Sage Valmiki, Yoga Vasista Sara, Ch.1, v.5
THE BUDDHA
With the teachings of the Buddha there's a vast amount of knowledge available concerning every aspect of living and how to live in a more conscious state. Healthier, clearer,
Having spent a lot of time on retreats practicing Buddhist meditation vipassana and a little Zazen one of the teachings that fascinates me the most is the practice of mindfulness. This is developing an awareness of the moment or the now throughout the day, an awareness that will energize you and reveal extraordinary and unique depth. Clearing the mischievous monkey mind and letting any torment or suffering diminish, Of course this starts with a few scattered insights and as you become more mindfull the insights and become regular experiences and sooner or later, lighting up becomes automatic, it's as though you've been switched on.
Getting your thoughts out of the way is not necessary , nothing has to change, we can be ourselves. All that is necessary is to feel the now more and more throughout the days and you will feel the changes and they will grow, glow and activate in you
regardless of whether you are sitting in a city office or living in a mountain Monastery . Mindfullness can be found at the root of many different spiritual practices and texts throughout the world and deep into history. But it's essence is very simple and in many ways it's like becoming a big chid who is uniquely you. Because that space is beyond the duality of bad and good you become more clearer and hopefully this will manifest in the personality. But even that doesn't matter , whatever you feel or where ever you are is perfect because you have access to the never sleeping NOW. Become absorbed in the sounds around you, the shape and feeling of the room or the outside, a waterfall, bids singing, kids outside making a noise .
Is it necessary for one who longs for release to inquire into the nature of categories (tattvas)?
Just as one who wants to throw away garbage has no need to analyse it and see what it is, so one who wants to know the Self has no need to count the number of categories or inquire into their characteristics; what he has to do is to reject altogether the categories that hide the Self. The world should be considered like a dream.

'ENTERING THE HEART' Ramana Maharshi
Selected quotes of Ramana Maharshi Practice ('Who am I') Do not meditate – be! Do not think that you are – be! Don’t think about being – you are!
Self-enquiry should not be regarded as a meditation practice that takes place at certain hours and in certain positions; it should continue throughout one's waking hours, irrespective of what one is doing. Sri Ramana Maharshi saw no conflict between working and self-enquiry and he maintained that with a little practice it could be done under any circumstances. He did sometimes say that regular periods of formal practice were good for beginners, but he never advocated long periods of sitting meditation and he always showed his disapproval when any of his devotees expressed a desire to give up their mundane activities in favour of a meditative life." True natural Awareness, which does not go after alien objects, is the Heart. Since actionless Awareness shines as real Being, its joy consists in concentration on itself. In the Self, he stands firm fixed who dwells and truly meditates on himself as pure awareness. The mind should not be allowed to wander towards worldly objects and what concerns other people. However bad other people may be, one should bear no hatred for them. Both desire and hatred should be eschewed. All that one gives to others one gives to one's self. If this truth is understood who will not give to others? When one's self arises all arises; when one's self becomes quiescent all becomes quiescent. To the extent we behave with humility, to that extent there will result good. If the mind is rendered quiescent, one may live anywhere.15. How long should inquiry be practised? As long as there are impressions of objects in the mind, so long the inquiry "Who am I?" is required. As thoughts arise they should be destroyed then and there in the very place of their origin, through inquiry. If one resorts to contemplation of the Self unintermittently, until the Self is gained, that alone would do. As long as there are enemies within the fortress, they will continue to sally forth; if they are destroyed as they emerge, the fortress will fall into our hands. What is the relation between desirelessness and wisdom?Desirelessness is wisdom. The two are not different; they are the same. Desirelessness is refraining from turning the mind towards any object. Wisdom means the appearance of no object. In other words, not seeking what is other than the Self is detachment or desirelessness; not leaving the Self is wisdom. He was equally critical, for the same reason, of those who tried to use ‘Who am I?’ as a mantra, saying that both approaches missed the point of self-enquiry. The question ‘Who am I?’, he said, is not an invitation to analyse the mind and to come to conclusions about its nature, nor is it a mantric formula; it is simply a tool which facilitates redirecting attention from the objects of thought and perception to the thinker and perceiver of them. In Sri Ramana Maharshi’s opinion, the solution to the question ‘Who am I?’ is not to be found in or by the mind since the only real answer is the experience of the absence of mind.

Sri Ramana maintained that the purest form of his teachings was the powerful silence which radiated from his presence and quieted the minds of those attuned to it. He gave verbal teachings only for the benefit of those who could not understand his silence.[3] His verbal teachings were said to flow from his direct experience of Consciousness (Atman) as the only existing reality.[4] When asked for advice, he recommended self-enquiry as the fastest path to moksha. Though his primary teaching is associated with Non-dualism, Advaita Vedanta, and Jnana yoga, he recommended Bhakti to those he saw were fit for it, and gave his approval to a variety of paths and practices.

Mooji - Buddha at the Gas Pump Interview
. Mooji talks about 'The Freedom of Not Wanting Anything', of not having any expectations.
"For one whose heart and whose attention is immersed in the True, they do not need to worry; for one whose mind and heart is immersed
in the untrue they will worry -- they cannot help worrying. Because they have made their ego their own life boat, they will worry."

' Whatever comes to pass is all right. '
' Those who desire to remain intoxicated by reality do not require artificial intoxicants.Indulging in false things will only increase falsity.
For every direction is indeed infinite. Those who desire the truly genuine thing proceed of themselves with great intensity so as to progress in their sadhana. '
