Living in Kyoto
Earlier impressions of Japan before I lived there were of an overcrowded and industrial country with not much space to move in. Especially after seeing documentaries and news of the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and other Japanese cities. But that is only a small part of the story. Japans abundant nature is highlighted by the changing seasons and spring with its beautiful plum and cherry blossom and the fall with it's spectacular changing of colors are inspiring times to be here. Running through the center of Kyoto is the Kamugawa river . Probably the most unpolluted city river you could ever wish for is teaming with a variety of fish, including the majestic coy (carp)and water birds, herons, egrets, ducks of many different kinds and cormorants and more can be spotted. I've actually seen over 50 egrets in one area along the river.
